August Recess

There’s a tradition in the Korean Zen temples of which I’ve been part: We take August off.

It’s probable that tradition originated in a country and at a time when air conditioning was not prevalent. Here in America we don’t have that challenge.

But we do have the need for down time and what Stephen R. Covey calls “Sharpening the Saw,” which is one of the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People he writes about in his book of the same name.

So the Only Love Zen Sangha will be closed during the month of August.

Student meetings will still occur, some weekly.

But we will not meet as a Sangha until September.

See you then!
